We are excited to announce an update to the default Google Chrome version available on our Android Emulators. All Android Emulators running Android 7.1 and above, now include Google Chrome version 100. This update applies to the browser itself, and also to embedded web views within native Android applications.
To improve test compatibility through this update, we have defaulted Android versions 7.1, 8.0, 8.1 and 9.0 to use the JWP protocol. Versions 10.0, 11.0, and 12.0 will use the W3C protocol by default. Please refer to our previous announcement for complete details.
Following this update, you may see “Invalid locator” errors in your tests running on Android versions 7.1 to 9.0, due to changes introduced in Chrome 75. Our Knowledge Base article details two possible fixes for your tests if you are experiencing this.
Happy Testing!
