Important: Mandatory Update for iOS 17 Real Devices to Improve Stability
To enhance the stability and performance of our Real Device Cloud, we have upgraded all our iOS 17 devices to the latest versions, iOS 17.4 and 17.5. This upgrade is especially crucial for Private Devices.
Why is this upgrade necessary?
This change allows us to implement a more stable and scalable method for executing commands and automation frameworks on these devices, significantly reducing instances of disconnects and random connection failures.
What is the impact?
Customers will experience improved reliability in Appium and XCUITest, along with a better Live Testing experience. The connection issues affecting performance are expected to be resolved with this upgrade.
Please note that this upgrade is mandatory, and devices running versions 17.0 to 17.3.x will no longer be supported. Only versions 17.4 and higher will be supported going forward.
Upon reviewing the release notes for these versions, we found that most updates pertain to security, privacy, and native iOS system functions, with no impact on customer applications.
